COMFORT
The Agile2 20L exceeds expectations for comfort with light-weight construction, high-end grooved back panel, and quality padded shoulder straps. For running specifically, the pack is below average in its class due to lack of body conforming straps and fit. However Salomon focused on comfort combined with maintaining capacity and versatility with this design, for which it succeeds.
STABILITY IN MOTION
This pack is not super-stable for running fast, especially since there is only one elasticized strap across the chest to hold it down. Otherwise, the side and back straps are standard nylon and they do well to hold more weight comfortably, rather than reduce bounce.
WEIGHT
The pack weighs 1lb 5oz which is considered heavy in its class, however the waterproofing and versatility explains the weight and therefore shines over the competition in many situations. Usually waterproof packs are heavy, or at best, bulky while this one feels like a high-end mountain pack.
QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION
The construction of details of the Agile2 20L are excellent—standard per Salomon. The water-tight zippers are quality, the tapped seams are great, and the strapping is tight. However, the pack’s outer nylon is too light-weight, even though it is made of rip-stop, because it’s prone to puncture and tearing.
MULTI-SPORT VERSATILITY
This pack is class-leading as a foul weather multisport option if running isn’t specificity the priority. It is great for wet hikes, summit hits, and light overnighters, while maintaining some capability for easy or occasional running as well.
